ABOUT

Sarah Atmore's Artistry

Explore the mix of paintings, drawings, and digital work I’ve created over time. My art is a way of experimenting with ideas and styles, sometimes carefully observed, other times more abstract.

I’ve always loved art, and grew up in a family that encouraged me to be creative in different ways. Around my senior year of high school, I decided to pick up a paintbrush for the first time. I immediately fell in love with painting and have been thankful ever since for that decision. What started as curiosity has grown into something central to how I express myself.

Over the past few years, I’ve explored a variety of themes in my work—from reflecting on the experience of growing up as a girl to experimenting with techniques inspired by artists like Caravaggio. I’m drawn to blending realism with abstract elements, letting the two overlap and create new ways of seeing. Each painting becomes an experiment in balance: between detail and suggestion, between structure and freedom.

Past Recognition

In the spring of 2024, I was honored to have my artwork selected for Kevin Jacksons Vice Provost Art Award. For one year, my painting of "The Gaze" was on display in his office. I am extremely grateful to have received the award and to have my art showcased.
